I was looking over my bills and I need to be on a spending freeze. I am half way finish with writing out my personal goals and being debt free is at the top of the list. This is really going to be hard, because I am long over due for a vacation and with God's will, I will be getting my settlement check by the end of the year. Which I am considering that all of it go to pay off credit cards and adding more to my savings. I just checked my credit and it's in good shape. I want to get my credit score to a 750 by the end of next year.I have a townhouse and really would like purchase a single family home with the master bedroom downstairs in the next 3-5 years. With maybe keeping my townhouse as an investment property.
Thinking about doing the spending freeze starting NOW until the end of the year.. This is going to be hard since Thanksgiving and Christmas is right around the corner. I have one birthday gift to buy and for Christmas I'm only getting my mother a gift. (Love you mommy). Those are the only two exceptions. Maybe by doing a spending freeze I can focus more on myself and getting into shape.
Just a way to say NO:
“What a great opportunity! Unfortunately, that doesn’t fit into my budget scenario right now, but I hope that you might remember me when the next opportunity comes by.”
I know not everyone wants to admit to they are on a budget—but remember, being broke is not the same thing as being on a budget. I know that in return the reward will be greater when I don't owe anyone but my mortgage.:-)
